Maya is a founder of YES! Theater and has been teaching theater and circus in schools since 2009. She started in circus when she was a kid at Circus Smirkus Camp. She went on to study philosophy & theater at The New School in New York City, study clowning at Celebration Barn Theater, and apprentice with Bread and Puppet Theater. She is a producer and co-founder of Vermont Vaudeville. Maya is currently on the board of directors for the Celebration Barn Theater and the Northeast Kingdom Arts Council.
Outside of performing and teaching Maya loves to travel.
